Loving The Dream (aka Terius Nash)
Posted by RJ on April 28, 2008
Thursday night, I tossed and turned and just couldn’t seem to get to sleep. Earlier that evening I heard a song by The Dream called Purple Kisses. It was so damn hot, it had me bothered all night long. I have been complaining recently about today’s music not having enough seductive slow jams. I miss the days when Jodeci, Boys II Men, and 112 used to grace me on the air waves, and then manipulate me in the bedroom.
Who is The Dream?
His radio plays from off his album Love Hate include Shawty is a 10, and the oh so sexy Falsetto. I already knew that he had written the Grammy-winning Umbrella for Rihanna and Fine for Mary J. Blige. He was responsible for another bedroom rocker, Bed, sung by J. Holiday (I first heard that track while in Atlanta and I almost lost my panties mind!). A quick Google search revealed that he was born in North Carolina, then moved to Atlanta, and recently divorced Nivea (an R&B singer with songs I can’t remember). It also mentioned that he has written/is writing for a host of other artists.
Do your own search. As I previously stated in the Music Room, I’m not a gossip columnist and really don’t give a damn who he’s sleeping with (unless it is me) or who he has pissed off (it won’t be me). His beats are hypnotic and render all other information insignificant.
Anyways, this is for The Dream:
Dear Dream (or T-Baby T-Baby, or whatever you want me to call you),
I love you for your sexy music. You may be short, kinda pudgy, young-looking, and physically not my type at all, but I will throw myself at you if you cross my path. I had lost faith in love-making songs in R&B, and was tired of the pussy-talking, nut-busting lyrics of some rappers. You brought back class to the stripper-type music and I will continue to listen to your songs on repeat. Please be careful though, I don’t want all the songs to be so faintly reminiscent of Bed.
I have some purple kisses waiting for you and would prefer that you sing in Falsetto.
Love,
Randi
